Five and Feelin' Fine

Happy Birthday Reid! We celebrated this momentous occasion with some of our swashbuckling friends (Sharee, Paul, Dylan, Erica, and Tray.) We had pizza, presents, pirate cake, and a treasure hunt. A good time was had by all.

Reid and Julio Down by The School Yard

Reid is officially a Kindergartner! He had his first day of school Last Thursday, and he took it like a champ. He's one of the youngest in his class, so we were hesitant to start him, but after some testing and consulting, we decided to bite the bullet. it's only 2.5 hours a day, so I don't think he's in over his head.
I was eager for a play by play of his first day, but when pressed, Reid just said, "oh, mom, we just drew straight lines all day." --After the testing, they said he would be in the advanced group, but after Reid's report of their daily activities, I'm wondering if they put him in the "special class."

Crawfish Pie--me oh my oh!

If you're looking for recreation in the Enterprise area, look no further than your own back yard. We found this jewel of a stream a mere 6 min. from our house. We did a little hunting and gathering, and boy was it fruitful. Kirsti and Toni were brave enough to join in on the fun, and we all enjoyed sampling our fresh catch. (Here's hoping we don't end up with some liver fluke dissease.)

Look at How Grown Up We Are

This newest addition to our family, proves that our nomadic lifestyle is now over. We are all grown up and ready to be the average American family--complete with dog. This little beauty of a Springer Spaniel was a birthday gift to the boys from Grandpa Allie and Grandma Diane. She is a good girl, and much beloved. Thanks again!

Two More Reasons Why Ben feels so Akin to This Country

Some examples of the wildlife we encountered on our Sunday afternoon drive. The turkeys, Ben has every intention of shooting and subsequently stuffing this November. While the Tarantula, he Herded off the busy Highway and into the safety of the shoulder. What an enigmatic man I married.

Cruzin for a Bruzin

Can you believe this mangled mess? This is Reid after we cleaned the wounds caused by his head making direct contact with the asphalt. It all began with a simple bike wreck---I know what you're thinking, "Oh Jodi, that bike wreck doesn't' look so simple," but I'm referring to the preliminary pre-bike wreck wreck. It wasn't too awful, he simply daydreamed his way into a ditch. So, thinking everything was okay, we re-mounted and prepared for more two-wheelin' adventures. Unfortunately, the affor-mentioned wreck left some hidden injuries to Reid's right hand, and when he went to grip the handle bar he experienced some level of pain. Enough pain, in fact, to flail his hand up in the air while pedaling furiously below . The effect was disastrous. So, like the good parents we are, we applied some pressure to his noggin, and reached for the camera.

The Brother's Copemasanof

Ollie and Reid are great boys and very good when separated, but when they're together, they cannot seem to "play-nice." I keep them separated at Church--I keep them separated in the car--I keep them separated at the dinner table, and anywhere else they may cross paths. I'm hoping they'll grow out of it. Ollie is such a tease (and a violent one at that,) and Reid is something of a tattle tale.-- A deadly combination.
But so far, they both love and adore their baby Brother. They both help me so much- keeping him entertained and happy. The minute Roger starts to whimper, Reid starts singing a medley of his favorites to him, and Ollie says, "Roge needs mama's milk, NOW."

Hello, Park of my Dreams

Thanks to a tip off from some family members, we finally took a little time to check out the infamous splash park near the tabernacle in St. George. The reason I rank this a Park among parks, is directly linked to the high-pitched screams of sheer glee emanating from my children for two hours straight. ---We would've stayed longer except that a patron showed up with some uncommon sanitation issues.
